Jar of Hearts - Christina Perri Writers: Christina Perri, Drew Lawrence, Barrett Yeretsian
No I can't take one more step towards you Cause all that's waiting is regret And don't you know I'm not your ghost anymore You lost the love I loved the most
I learned to live, half-alive And now you want me one more time
And who do you think you are Runnin' round leaving scars Collecting your jar of hearts And tearing love apart You're gonna catch a cold From the ice inside your soul So don't come back for me Who do you think you are
I hear you're asking all around If I am anywhere to be found But I have grown too strong To ever fall back in your arms
I learned to live, half-alive And now you want me one more time
Who do you think you are Runnin round leaving scars Collecting your jar of hearts And tearing love apart You're gonna catch a cold From the ice inside your soul So don't come back for me Who do you think you are
It took so long just to feel alright Remember how to put back the light in my eyes I wish I had missed the first time that we kissed Cause you broke all your promises
And now you're back You don't get to get me back
Who do you think you are Runnin' round leaving scars Collecting your jar of hearts And tearing love apart You're gonna catch a cold From the ice inside your soul So don't come back for me Don't come back at all
And who do you think you are? Runnin' round leaving scars Collecting your jar of hearts And tearing love apart You're gonna catch a cold From the ice inside your soul Don't come back for me Don't come back at all
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
This song's been my new obsession for the past two days; I've been playing it again and again and again and again.
Although the lyrics don't really relate to my current life right now, I really love the mood of this song - the melancholia in it, the sadness within it all, while at the same time there's this feeling that the person is trying to let go and move on. It's a really beautiful song.
This song really touches deep into my heart; the moment the first chord was played I knew I was going to fall in love with it. And I did. I especially love these lines:
"And don't you know I'm not your ghost anymore" "I learned to live, half-alive" "You're gonna catch a cold from the ice inside your soul" "But I have grown too strong to ever fall back in your arms"
These lines are so pretty, no?

Sometimes I wonder what my worth in this world is.
And most of the time I entertain thoughts of just disappearing from the surface of the Earth one day. Into thin air. Maybe I'll go somewhere where there are no other human beings. Maybe I won't even do it in the end. I don't know. No one will probably miss me anyway.
What's happened to the both of us?
